Car Park Closure
The car parks adjacent to L F Crisp Building and John Dedman Building, between those buildings and the Drill Hall Gallery, will be closed from 4 August 2008 to allow construction of the new ANU College of Business and Economics Building.

Green Steps is an innovative green office training course for students which covers environmental auditing, project planning, strategic communication and change management. In addition, Green Steppers undertake a paid work placement, receive a respected certificate in Environmental Change Management and gain access to a network of sustainability professionals. SIDECARS Launch
SIDECARS is an academic community that reduces isolation and provides early career lecturers with additional resources and further course preparation tips.
To launch the SIDECARS initiative, a one-off SIDECARS Information Night will be held on Thursday 24 July in the Common Room, University House from 5-6pm. Light refreshments will be served.
ANU Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) Professor Mandy Thomas will address the launch of this exciting new initiative.

ANU 2008 Tutors and Demonstrators Study
The Tutors Support Network (TSN) at The Australian National University is conducting the research project "ANU 2008 Tutors and Demonstrators Study", the results of which will be used to plan and develop resources for tutors and demonstrators at the University. ANU Orientation Day Semester 2 -17 July 2008
Orientation Day aims to provide new students with the answers to many questions such as: How do I enrol? Can I get a mentor to help me? How do I catch a bus? Are there student groups or extra curricular activities I can get involved in? Is it safe to walk on campus after dark? What sorts of events and activities happen in the holiday periods? Can I get a part-time job? What responsibilities do international students have?
Orientation Day semester 2 2008 is part of Orientation Week, from Monday 14 July to Friday 17 July. There will be many activities availabe to new students, such as lunchtime BBQ's and campus tours. Orientation Week semester 2 finishes with the Welcome Bush Dance & Dinner.

The Vice-Chancellor allocates funds to assist the commercial publication of the results of academic research of staff members or students of the University that are unable to be published by an independent commercial publisher without financial assistance. Results of Election of General Staff Member to Council
Two candidates contested the election of a member of the general staff to Council. 384 members of the general staff registered a vote by the close of poll at 4.00pm on Thursday 8 May 2008. Mr Bill Speed received 206 votes and was declared elected. The Returning Officer's report may be found at:

How Much is Enough? UniSuper Seminar
This seminar explores the issue of adequacy in retirement savings. Younger members in particular will find it a very useful introduction to the topic of lifetime savings and investment, but the seminar will include material that is very relevant to UniSuper members at all stages of their working lives.
