Development of a coherent US strategy for the future: Obstacles to overcome


The National Security College and the Strategic & Defence Studies Centre, are pleased to co-host this public seminar. We welcome our guest, Admiral Dennis Blair to speak at our seminar.

How the US manages its strategic environment is fundamental for itself and nations globally. In this address, Admiral (Retired) Dennis C Blair will address important questions about the future of US strategy, its priorities and challenges in implementing them.

Admiral Blair is currently a member of the Energy Security Leadership Council of Securing America’s Future Energy and on the boards of a number of security-related think-tanks. His past appointments at the most senior levels of the US Government include Director of National Intelligence (2009-10) and Commander Pacific Command (1999-2002). During his 34-year Navy career, Admiral Blair served on guided missile destroyers and commanded the Kitty Hawk Battle Group. He is a graduate of the US Naval Academy and a Rhodes Scholar.

Admiral Blair was honoured as an officer in the Order of Australia in 2002.

The seminar commences at 6.30pm until 8pm. Refreshments are served from 6pm.
