Public lecture
Can promoting partial sickness absence reduce total sickness absence?

In this lecture Professor Mykletun will describe recent research on sickness absence and disability benefits, and talk about policies and interventions to reduce rates of sickness absence.

Professor Mykletun is from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health and the Faculty of Psychology at The University of Bergen. He is chair of a Norwegian expert group that has advised the Norwegian Government on how to reduce sickness absence, through strategies such as active participation measures, return-to-work strategies, and graduated sick leave.

He has used epidemiological methods to examine the consequences of mental illness on employment, mortality and disability.
