My Aim: To lead you to paint the many facets of what is meant by “Landscape”...
Using Watercolour, gouache, pen & ink, monoprints.
Using a variety of paper sizes from ¼, ½, ¾ and full sheets etc.
Using a variety of papers using Hot pres, Cold press, Yupo, tissue, rice papers, card etc
From basic washes, bold and free, to veiled techniques, contour and tonal exercises, etc...
Using strategies and hints that widen our understanding of painting in water mediums.

During the course we will encounter the works of established artists....discussing their paintings, drawing ideas from their cleverness and perhaps use some facets of their style to widen our knowledge, methods, expertise and joy.

Please ensure you have good “transparent” paints, (Do not use Cotman Colours as they tend to be opaque.) I have available sets of paints for you to use till you become used to my recommended palette.

Lets paint....skies, clouds, water, lakes, oceans, beaches, rivers, ponds, trees, flowers, hot deserts, cold mountains, people/figures in the landscape etc. Above all....ENJOY as you HAVE A GO!
