The Global Cross-Disciplinary Tournament 2012 is a chance to apply your academic discipline to the problems that face our generation ... and this year it's in Singapore!
This tournament is open to all students from all disciplinary backgrounds. The first phase of the GXT begins when you respond to the Entry Question: "What is the future of cities?". You can then take part in a series of dynamic team and individual challenges that will test your capacity for flexible, big-picture thinking.
If you are selected for the second phase, you will join a multidisciplinary team of students from other IARU universities such as Oxford University, Peking Univeristy and ETH Zurich. The tournament will involve communicating with students from across the world, via Skype and similar software, before you get the chance to meet your team face-to-face at the National University of Singapore from July 26th - August 4th. During this intensive intellectual week, you and your team-mates will live on the NUS campus, fully funded!
Representing your discipline in your team, you will design a 'catalyst for change' on the GXT 2012 issue: 'The Future of Cities'. Not only will you see why what you study matters in the bigger picture, but you will have a chance to convey that understanding in a final symposium in front of peers, academics and stakeholders.
To register, simply visit anuxsa.org/register and post your answer to the question "What is the future of cities?".
Registrations close 19 March.
